About the event
Maurice came from the Coast Guard Academy.
As a commissioned officer, he commanded a 270-foot vessel responsible for a 100-person crew and $53 million in government property. He learned to make decisions under pressure, manage people who did not choose to work for him, and keep a complex operation running when things went wrong.
Then he bought a business.
His first acquisition — a residential cleaning company — cost $250,000 and was financed entirely through an SBA loan. No trust fund. No private equity backing. No MBA. Just a veteran who understood operations, saw an opportunity, and showed up.
Then he bought another one. Then another. Then a fourth.
Four acquisitions. Four times he signed the papers, watched the previous owner walk out the door, and inherited a team that had no idea who he was or what was about to change.
